1. A leader articulates, guides
and reinforces the values and vision for the organization 6. Leaders are always searching to increase their own knowledge, stretching their boundaries and limitations, and bringing that experience back into the organization Leaders invent themselves and then reinvent
themselves by living it every day. “The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership” or “Developing The Leader Within You” By John Maxwell (John is my personal mentor for leadership). “The Secret” “The Art of Business” (in the footsteps of giants) "The last of the human freedoms: to choose one's attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one's own way." ~ Viktor Frankl 1905-1997, Neurologist, Psychiatrist and Author The ability to consider the possibility that you could be wrong or misinformed is the mark of a great leader. ~ Steve Kennedy The single most important ingredient in the formula of success is how to get along with people. ~ Theodore Roosevelt Do you wish to rise? Begin by descending. You plan a tower that will pierce the clouds? Lay first the foundation of humility. ~ St. Augustine A leader is best when people barely know he exists, not so good when people obey and acclaim him, worse when they despise him. But of a good leader who talks little when his work is done, his aim fulfilled, they will say: We did it ourselves. ~ Lao-Tzu If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader. ~ John Quincy Adams I start with the premise that the function of leadership is to produce more leaders, not more followers. ~ Ralph Nader Show Your Customers Your Appreciate them When was the last time you let your customers know how much you appreciate them? Here are some ways I do it: 1.Call or visit them and tell them. We call our regular customers at least once or twice a year and ask them how everything is going and tell them we really appreciate their business. 2. Send a note or a trinket with a note Once a year usually around the holidays we send out a mailing with a gift and a note of appreciation. We send a day planner or Computer monitor calendar with our name and phone number so it's handy when they need it ... and to keep us in the forefront of their mind. 3. Deliver MORE than you promise I always give my customers more than they ask for – list the extras on the bill and write next to those extras - NO Charge – we appreciate your business! 4. Thank them Every time a customer places an order we say thank you for your order. The idea here is simple not only should you stay in touch with your customers but let them know you really appreciate their business. This tip has served me well over the last 25 years we have customers who stay with us for 10-15 and 20 years. Action: think of three ways to thank your customers or clients.
