Taking Action
Action is key to success.
All of the previous steps that I have written about are brought to fruition with ACTION.

 

Here's how successful people get results!

Successful people take purposeful action consistently, every single day! They too have setbacks, doubts and fear – but the key to their success is that they continue to move forward taking consistent and persistent action every day on their plan towards their desired result until it is achieved. They take action in spite of the fear not because of the absence of it.

Know the Saboteurs

Common saboteurs people face when trying to make change:

• Fear • Doubt • Blame • Worry • Procrastination • Excuses
• Acceptance (that’s just the way it is)

What are your saboteurs telling you? What horror movie is playing in your head keeping you from moving forward convincing you to just play it safe? What are your doubts or fears?

Many people find it helps to write them down. Then start to observe them and get to know your own personal saboteurs. Where and when do they show up? This allows us to gain the awareness over when they are running the show and when you are running show!

Watch out for procrastination and excuses because they are used to cover up our real FEAR of moving forward. These are just ways to sabotage our ultimate success and allow our saboteurs to control our lives.

Pursue the pleasure!

You are probably familiar with Tony Robbins. He has achieved massive success in his life. His techniques have helped countless people achieve monumental success. While attending one of his seminars in 1989 I learned this valuable lesson: EVERYTHING we do is driven by our fundamental need to avoid pain and our desire to gain pleasure.

It is also true that: we will do far more to avoid pain than we will to gain pleasure.

Knowing this, to be successful in taking action you must identify and change what you associate pain with. You need to convince yourself that not taking action will be more painful than taking action.

Tips

The ability to take daily persistent action speaks volumes about what you believe is possible.

A compelling vision is the foundation because it is what drives your journey. If you have been unable to sustain your journey to success – you may very well need to strengthen your "vision".

What are you associating short-term pain to -- that if it were achieved -- would bring you long-term pleasure?

Even with all the founding steps completed your ultimate success is hinged on action!

You can know what you want; have clear goals for getting it; uncovered the limiting beliefs that are holding you back; have a compelling vision; have a road map to get there; and have even decided to go for it – but, without taking ACTION you will never have success.

Taking action is the difference between success and failure ...

Concluding thoughts…

If you don’t take action now to change your circumstances you can easily predict what the next five years will be like… just take a look at the last five.

Action is contagious it feeds on itself and builds. When you take that first or second action step towards your goal all kinds of ideas and resources show up to point you to the next action and then the next and before you know it, you are within reach of something you never thought possible – so take the first step today and the second one tomorrow!
